Biography:

Sergio is an Application Engineering Team Lead at MathWorks focusing on the areas of data science, mathematical modeling, and parallel computing. For more than 6 years, Sergio has worked with companies and universities in the United States and Latin America in the adoption of MATLAB and Simulink in projects related to data analytics and integration with production and cloud systems.

Before joining MathWorks, Sergio received his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. During that time, he worked as a research assistant at the Structural Dynamics and Acoustic Systems Laboratory specializing in Modal Analysis and Vibrations. Sergio also holds a M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and B.S. in Mathematics from Worcester State College.
